与香港理工大学合作，于2007年初创办国际杂志“Engineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics”，与李毓湘教授一起任共同主编。该学术期刊已进入SCI检索系统。
协助中国力学学会承办第六届国际流体力学会议（ICFM6），会议将于2011年6月30日至7月3日在中山大学举行。
任中山大学工学院应用力学与工程系系主任，中山大学工程力学研究所副所长。任中国力学学会流体力学专业委员会和环境力学专业委员会委员，广东省力学学会副理事长，中国海洋工程学会常务理事;任核心刊物《水动力学研究与进展》，《Journal of Hydrodynamics》（SCI源刊）执行编委。
在“Physics of Fluids”，“Physical Review E”，“Journal of Power Sources”，“Building and Environment”，“International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer”，“Chemical Engineering Science”，“Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, ASCE”，“International Journal for Computational Fluid Dynamics”，“Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal, and Ocean Engineering, ASCE”，“Ocean Engineering”，“International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow”，“International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids”,“Chinese Physics”，“Journal of Hydrodynamics”，“American Journal of Rhinology”, “Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing”,“Marine Science Bulletin”，“力学学报”，“物理学报”, “海洋学报”, “实验力学”，“力学进展”，“海洋工程”，“计算力学学报”，“计算物理”，“海洋与湖沼”，“水动力学研究与进展”和“中山大学学报”等刊物发表了近100篇水平较高的论文，其中一半被SCI或EI收录。
